News update on Upcycled Swag, what’s going on in our studio lately!

Hello Swaggers!

Sorry I haven’t blogged for a while. I was super busy working on a photo shoot, hopefully you will see some of my designs in some magazines this spring! Once I get some sneak peeks I will add to my next blog.

I will be adding some more pieces starting Sunday, keep your eyes open. I will also be putting my fall and winter pieces on SALE.

I am also no longer going to be attending any events or markets in 2016. I got pretty burnt out from the traveling gypsy gig, and sewing every spare minute. I had to scale it back a bit. I will now only be available on line. I am on Etsy, Face Book, Twitter also. I am trying to figure out the Instagram thing, but still a work in progress. I do have a few old photos on there, but most have long sold.

I am going to be selling off lots of fabric I have in stock most over 75% off original price. If you or some one you know sews message me I have tons of stuff. Also zippers, trims, lace, etc. I am down sizing my 1000 sq foot studio to 150 sq……. amazing deals to be had.

Reminder you can also find Upcycled Swag in Unless Market on Bernard Ave in Kelowna.

Fused Plastic Upcycling Workshop:

Good morning!
I have been tossing around the idea of hosting and teaching some up cycling workshops in the new year. I am putting this out there to see if there is any interest. If you live in the Okanagan area (B.C. Canada), and you have a interest in ways to reuse some daily products, this might interest you. I am looking at ways to recycle plastic bags, grocery, chip bags, any plastic bag. You would learn how to turn them into a reusable material that could be then used like a fabric. This new fused plastic can be sewn together to make many useful items. Below is a wonderful video, and well worth the watch. Grab a cup of tea and curl up and check it out. This video inspired me to want to do something. I am looking forward to some feedback on this.
I would also like to teach some other workshops on up cycling in the new year, do you have any suggestions of what you would like to see? I like to stick to mostly clothing and fashion, but hey who knows. The attached photos I found on line, they are shown as a example of could be made.
